Ruth Myles: Tig and Bobby from Sons of Anarchy ride into Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo
It’s not likely that there will be many happy endings on the final season of Sons of Anarchy, the gritty FX? series centred on the dark dramas of an outlaw motorcycle club. After all, SPOILER ALERT, Season 6 ended with our hero’s beloved wife lying in a pool of blood on her kitchen floor, the victim of a furious attack by said hero’s mother. It was all the more poignant as Tara (Maggie Siff) was finally escaping the violence of her Jax’s (Charlie Hunnam’s) world and taking their two small children with her. So don’t expect rainbows and leather-clad unicorns. But a girl can dream. So if Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior could write a happy ending for their characters — Tig and Bobby, respectively — what would it be? “We are going into the Christmas tree business,” Boone says to Coates’ sudden laughter. “Seriously, he is playing Santa and I am one of his elves,” Coates riffs, warming to the idea. “And that would be the sales pitch. Little advertisements in Charming (where the club is headquartered),” Boone says. “The Christmas tree business. F. k, that’s great!” Coates declares.
