Calgary Home and Garden Show: A show for all ages
Whether downsizing, upsizing or right-sizing, vendors and on stage programming provides inspiration for everyone.

There comes a time in life when the do-it-yourselfer becomes a did-it-yourselfer. The tools may be retired but the journey as a homeowner continues. That’s why the annual Calgary Home and Garden Show holds great appeal even to “experienced” homeowners. There’s always something new to learn and it’s always very entertaining.
“The Home and Garden Show truly has something for everyone, whether you rent or own, live in a spacious house or a compact condo,” says Casey Matulic, manager for the Home and Garden show to be held Feb. 27 to March 2 at Stampede Park. “Our exhibitors will be there to help with everything from home maintenance to making your space more accessible.”
Home improvement, new technologies and creative landscape solutions are part of the show, however, it also extends to hobbies with creative workshops from Dots and Lines to inspire show goers to express their artistic side. Experts from local garden centres, landscape companies and the Calgary Horticultural Society will offer free advice on planning gardens, including how to grow beautiful flowers, herbs and even vegetables in containers or in a small backyard. The show will feature a Cooking Stage where local chefs will demonstrate simple, delicious home-cooked meals.
“Perfect for those wanting to make the most of their kitchen without the fuss,” Matulic says.
One of the Main Stage presenters is Home Network personality Bryan Baeumler, who is even more delightful in person than he is on TV. Other guests include Adam Weir, Nancy Adie and a design favourite Brittany McNab, each of them offering fresh ideas, inspiration and brilliant ideas to wake up tired or dated home décor.
Many exhibitors have products and advice to help right sizers who are looking to reduce clutter in their home and simplify their lives.
“Older attendees will find plenty to explore including health care solutions. We’ll have vendors like Advantage Home Health, Uppercut Elevators, Century Chiropractic and Aveiro Sleep who will provide their insights on staying safe and well,” Matulic says. “Our show attracts a wide group of people, but based on past events, the average age is around 51. This means we’re curating experiences and exhibitors that cater to both new homeowners and seasoned pros looking to enhance their living spaces.”
